Tightrope (James Bucky Barnes/Steven Rogers)
He shouldn't have been working that day. Actually, he shouldn’t have been working that week either, to begin with. Honestly, he should have ceased working come August when winter started to nip at the heels of Pennsylvania, but when your best friend and former lover was currently away at war, working was easy, even for someone as sickly and broke as shit as Steven Grant Rogers. Despite long, dreary days in which his already wheezing lungs protested every movement he made and his head and back ached fiercely even before the day started, he had to keep going. Work as well as money came to no man easily, especially ones in his current condition if they somehow still held a job of any description. Steve looked at himself in the mirror with a sigh, hands and skin stained in the black dust of coal and ash from working near the railroad, his ears ringing from the many horns blaring past him at the speed of sound. His once white shirt was streaked in lines and smudges where the dirt and

The next morning, she was still in high spirits when she went down to get breakfast. “Morning,” she said smiling and sat down at the kitchen table, oblivious to the fact that her aunt and uncle did not seem their usual cheery selves. “Sleep well, dear?” her aunt asked and served her breakfast. “Pretty good,” she assured and started eating while her aunt and uncle watched her. “Not tired from all the work?” her uncle asked. “I’m good, just wanted to finish up last night like I promised,” Penny said casually. “Say, did my parents leave any sort of inheritance or something?” “A bit, yes, why do you ask?” May asked. “Just wondering,” Penny said and finished off her food quickly, even though it was a bigger portion than usual, her aunt and uncle looking genuinely concerned but did their best to hide it. “See you after school then,” Penny said getting up. “Hold on, I’ll drive you part of the way. Need to pick up a few things,” Ben told her and Penny shrugged. While her uncle drove

After she changed out of the clothes she had been sweating in all night, she took a quick shower then got dressed. She put on some more form-fitting clothes than she usually would, ditching the usual baggy hoodies, tied her hair in a ponytail then headed downstairs almost skipping the way there. “Someone’s feeling better,” Ben said surprised at her new look. “A lot better, yeah,” she said and sat down to eat. “Glad to hear it, sweetie,” May said and placed a plate of food in front of her and gave her a quick kiss on the forehead. The scent of fresh eggs and bacon somehow smelled better than ever and pointed out just how hungry she was. She started digging in at an alarming speed, grabbing rolls every few moments as she wolfed down her food, finishing off with a tall glass of orange juice. When she looked up, she saw her aunt and uncle were staring at her stunned. “Guess I was hungry…” she said embarrassed. “Nice to see you got your appetite back,” May said smiling. “Can I get

The Artistic Spidergirl - chapter 1
It was lunch break at a small high school in New York. Most of the students were grouped as they ate outside, enjoying the warm weather, with few people sitting alone. Among the loners was an almost inconspicuous girl with a mess of brown hair covering most of her face that sat alone in the shade of a tree, eating a homemade sandwich. Leaning against her legs was a sketchpad where the girl was tracing the face of a blonde girl that seemed to be the centre of attention of one of the larger groups of students. The sketch was barely a few lines of the shape of her face and the young artist was taking great care with each stroke and giving it her full attention, the sandwich sitting only halfway finished in her other hand. She was so focused on it that she yelped when someone placed a hand on her shoulder, dropping both her sandwich and sketchpad. “Easy, it’s just me,” a redheaded boy said and helped her pick up her things. “Don’t just sneak up on people like that, Harry… almost gave

Scarlet Grey (She-Hulk) Chapter 3
"And... we're back! Nice to see you all again!", Jennifer Walters exclaimed, waving at the audience in frozen time right next to an enraged Hulk-ified Scarlet Grey, who was nearly seconds away from tackling the lawyer. "So, just to refresh your memories, Miss Scarlet Grey over here was shot by robbers. Being the heroic hero that I am, I quickly grabbed her and transported her over here to donate my blood to her, hoping that it would save her life. And luckily, it did! Jenny Walters saved a life and now, I no longer have to buy new clothes because of the She-Hulk form because well... as you can see, Miss Grey over here is the new She-Hulk. It looks like she took my powers from me during the blood drive, but as you can see, she's way more Savage than Sensational right now... Now that everyone is caught up with the story, I will now proceed to get out of the way before I am crushed by MIss Grey." Time resumes, allowing Jennifer to barely dodge the incoming red headed mound of muscle.
Bucky could not remember the last time that he had felt so intense. Or so empty. Steve, who had always agreed that they would be together “’til the end of the line,” had just left him. He knew that Steve had to return the Infinity Stones to their rightful places, where they would be protected from future predators, but it meant nothing to him now as the time portal remained static and nobody, familiar or stranger, emerged from it. Bucky knew that Steve wouldn’t return to the 1940s to be with Peggy; Steve had made abundantly clear to him that Peggy was a friend, a kindred spirit. His worst fears were that Steve had been captured or killed because of his damned sense of honor. “Barnes? Barnes, can you hear me…?” Sam’s voice sounded far away even though he was standing right beside him, “Barnes, tell me if you’re all right…!” No. No Sam, he wasn’t all right. He was sure that his heart had just been shattered by the very man that he loved more than he had ever loved

Avengers Outbreak Fanfic Part 1 :The Awakening
A silvery fog hung thick in the air, the early morning dew dripping from the abundant ferns, leaves and flowers of the rainforest as frogs chirped happily and the lizards scurried through the mists, chasing down their breakfasts. Birds sang amongst themselves, swooping carefree in and out of the light of sunrise breaking through the forest canopy, the orchestra of life resonating like a beautiful symphony through the trees.
A bright green dart frog leaped gracefully onto a branch, the sunlight glistening on its body making its colors shine in stark contrast to the brown wood beneath it. Its eyes locked on a delicious looking line of
It has been a few days since the bonding with Donna. Everyday life was still normal for the most part. Donna always changes into Bella’s clothes in order to bend in as Bella goes to school. Though there was no problem hiding in Bella as she goes through people or even talking with her friends, it was during class that was another story. Bella would be sitting at her desk, concentrating on the teacher when she would start hearing Donna in her mind. It would usually be about the subject and why she is even learning about it, or it would be because she is bored as Bella would not be talking to her. Sometimes Bella would tell her about the subject or telling Donna to be quiet. It always ended with Bella losing track with what the teacher was saying and having to politely ask another student what they written down if the student themselves was not already asleep. In the end though it was not a big deal that would cause Bella any trouble, it was just a very curious symbiote. At home

Bella-Donna: The First Meeting
So you want to know about my life? To be perfectly honest I would not have an interesting lifestyle if Donna never came to be. I would of just been an ordinary girl getting through life just like everyone else. Of course that is never a bad thing, sometimes I love having those days when I am not out crime fighting. I wonder how my life would have really been without Donna. You see I grew up without having friends. I only started to make friends in High School. Those friends being Peter Parker, Harry Osborn, and Gwen Stacy. But even with them, I still felt lonely. Do not get me wrong I love hanging out with them, but if they went to events or parties hosted by the school, I did not feel like I fit in. I would be standing in the corner looking down at my drink or sitting on the bleachers as everyone else is having fun and think to myself, ``Why am I here?’ I would then leave the place to go home while everyone else stays behind. One night I did that is when I met Donna, so maybe it was
